In early April 2025, the production team from Gallery met with the team from architect Fernanda Marques’ office to film the episode. One of the recordings took place at the Roca Gallery — the first Roca space in Latin America and also the first one designed by a woman. The other was captured in São José dos Campos at the award-winning Casa Jabuticaba.

Casa Jabuticaba is a contemporary residence designed for a young couple with small children. Completed in 2022, the house has a built area of 1,400 m² and was conceived as a permanent home, integrating architecture, nature, and functionality.
The metal structure allowed for thinner slabs, giving the construction a lighter feel and enabling wide openings that enhance the connection between the indoor spaces and the garden. The ground floor houses the social areas, such as the living room, terrace, and playroom, while the upper floor is reserved for private areas, including a master suite facing a preservation area and bedrooms overlooking the pool.
The project prioritizes the use of high-quality and sustainable materials, such as cumaru wood sourced from responsible forestry. In addition, solar panels were installed for clean energy generation, along with retractable brise-soleils to control sunlight exposure indoors.
"It’s truly a beautiful project. The house is clearly designed for a family, and that’s evident in how the spaces flow together — and connect with nature. But for me, the standout feature is the entrance. The wood used in the construction adds a unique touch, and the entrance door left ajar during sunset is a show on its own." — Gabriel Alves, Content Director at Gallery.
Casa Jabuticaba received the 2023 iF Design Award in the Residential Architecture category, standing out for its innovative and environmentally sensitive approach. It was also a finalist for the 2024 ArchDaily Brasil Building of the Year Award. A project that perfectly exemplifies Fernanda Marques’ philosophy of creating spaces that combine sophistication, comfort, and a deep connection with nature.

Produced by Gallery — an institution dedicated to preserving and sharing stories about architecture and design — the series aims to build a legacy through historically significant audiovisual narratives. Each episode invites the audience to dive into the creative world of the architects shaping Brazil’s urban and cultural landscape.
